IBC Coatings Recognized at the Air Force Small Business Industry Days
IBC Coatings Technologies recently participated in the Air Force Small Business Industry Days. Ashok Ramaswamy, Vice President, presented information on PEO Coating, Polishing, and De-Painting processes that IBC has developed through small business research grants funded by the Department of Defense. These new technologies provide significant improvements in component life and reduced service and maintenance time for the Air Force and are available to our commercial customers as well.
The presentation (click the link below) describes the technologies and the benefits they offer.

FABTECH - North America's largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event.
IBC had developed and patented a new type of locator and welding pins, that combine high wear resistance, extremely low coefficient of friction, high electrical insulation, and toughness. Pins were tested for more than 2 years by the major automotive customers in toughest applications, including high strength steel and hot forming, with reported life extension up to 14 times compared to commonly used products. IBC can supply the pins in standard sizes and custom dimensions, magnetic and non-magnetic materials.
September 2014 - May 2015
IBC collaborated with Purdue University’s Materials Engineering Department to sponsor two engineering design projects. Investigated coating systems included Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) and Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC). Advanced research and production efforts were investigated by the Purdue teams with great success.
